Xbox Mod Chip

I just recently got a used Xbox (the green Halo edition), and I'm thinkin about modding it because I'd like to put some emulators on it and generally use it as a multimedia station. I'm not keen on softmodding because it seems a bit risky too me (don't ask why), and I don't know how to handle a soldering iron. Are the solderless mod chips any good? Thanks!

yeah... the solderless ones are just about as good as the soldered ones now a days.

I say go with the xenium. VERY easy install! As long as you have a LAN it is probably the easiest chip I've ever used.

[EDIT]check out Jandaman.com...

That is where I got my Xenium chips.

I've softmodded two of them now, with no problems. The only downside is that you can't use Live. As long as you make the backups before installing the softmod, I don't see where there would be any risk.

I second the xenium, I absolutely love mine. Don't forget to upgrade the hard drive.

I've installed an X.B.I.T. solderless chip in my XBOX. Pretty simple, no complaints.
