X-men comic question
Shitface - Aug 7, 2003

Hey, in the older comics. Did the Original Nightcrawler use a sword?

 MasterAkumaMatata Aug 7, 2003
I believe I've seen him using a fencing sword in the cover of a comic once.

i know of a scary man that uses the same bus as i do...he reads nothing but Marvel comics everyday!

plus we have an import comic/anime shop in my city (well not MY city, but you know what I mean ...)

Do anyone know where i can go to get a good summary of what has happen in marvel comics. I stopped reading them long ago and now want to catch up. I left x-men right about the time Onslaught started beating everyone up.

die-hard/hardcore marvel comic fansites?

or newsgroups.

Try those cheap MARVEL COMICS THE ESSENTIAL X-MEN they are b&w starting from issue one and have 20+ comics inside. Each one costs $14.50

Ok, now I think it may have been on one of his Marvel cards (Series II if I'm not mistaken) that I used to collect when I was young.

That series IV Spidey vs. Venom holigram? It was worth $80 when I managed to get it. Now it's worth about $4 if you're lucky.

I stopped buying comics regularly (well X-Men, etc) around 1995, it seemed the companies had started to milk all their franchises to the extreme, with 10 covers for even normal issues, and the whole alternate x-men dimension/parallel universe thread put me right off.

My favourite US comics are from the 80s or early 90s, they sure do take me back.

I also only saw Nightcrawler with a fencing sword once or twice (maybe in x-calibur), but my memory is very hazy.

Secret Wars was the s#it.

Next came Infinity Gauntlet, then Infinity War, and finally Infinity Crusade. I stopped after Infinity War. What did you think of the Infinity saga?

i want to sell off all my comics i have a bunch of wolverine comics signed by the artist also some spiderman comics signed by the same artist(i would go to comic shows LOL)

I'm guessing Infinity Saga was the first alternate dimension one (sorry my memory is failing me lately), with the Wolverine with one hand? I bought the round of all the titles with that cross-over and then bought no more, so I can't really give an honest opinion. I didn't like some of the art, and the way they were imitating a manga-ish look that that was more cartoony looking to me.

I looked and I do have some comics from later on I think, although they could be from before - some of the Legion Quest titles.

Nowadays when I have the cash I will most likely buy some 80s/early 90s stuff, and some graphic novels.

My favourite art has to be by people like Brian Bolland, George Perez, etc , my fave X-Men books were definitely the Dark Phoenix saga. I wouldn't mind getting the Fist of the North Star and Crying Freeman novels too because along with Akira they had some of my favourite art also.

I used to buy the UK Transformers comics too, I loved Transformers and I'll always appreciate my mum buying me my comics because she wasn't rich or well off (import comics cost a lot here), but they helped improve my reading skills. My sneaky, evil older cousin ripped me off for a lot of my comics though, as a kid <_< .
