After reading through many of the threads I found that mal posted the 21 pin CD board chronology:

Right now the only saturns that seem to easily be modded are the 32 pin IC ones. So perhpas if everyone lists some information about the saturn they have we can come up with a fairly reliable range of dates a compatible console was manufactured. So if anyone has the time or the desire perhaps you could post this information about your saturn. Here is what we have so far.
