SYS_SEC.O Security Code
Quakester2000 - May 11, 2004

What does the SYS_SEC.O in the Libs directory of the SGL do? Someone said it may this is the code that boots the saturn. Is this written to the outter ring or what is it used for on a sega saturn?

Unlikely. From what I gather, the security code is pre-printed on the Saturn CDs. You burn your game on a CD that already has teh security code to get it to work on a real cd.

The object file forms part of the IP that must be present in order for the game to be run. According to the disc format standards document it contains the "licensed by Sega" graphic and code to put it on screen. It has nothing to do with the security ring.
