Stupid question about outer ring...

Hi, i'm just interested about the cd protection the saturn have....

I read several things about it and it remains misterious....

Does anybody tried to dump it? What is the result?

Cause, for exemple, with segacd, you can read a disc sector per sector... So it might be possible to read the outter ring in order to dump it (if it contains data ^^).

:/ Ok Ok very stupid question but i'm interested u know :banana

Thx for reply

Bye

Look through the old discussions on the subject.

Well, as i told, i already read lot of things about it...

Many junk methods:

"Cutting the CD"

"Draw the outerring with a black marker"

"Ripping with a computer" <<< Don't know how it is possible since u can't read sector per sector with a computer cd drive

... etc etc...

Just answer, i'll delete all after ^^.

Well, i need to explain a bit more my idea:

On segacd, i rewrite the disc TOC to make the iso file set to maximum size.

I read the last sectors...

Might be already tested...

Here's the most recent thread....

Ok, i understand now.

The data written in the outter ring in not iso standard (2048 data Bytes + sector header) so a classic data cdrom reader can't output any data without any ready error (since no sector header)...

Thx

I wonder if there is readable data of some form there, however, or whether it's more of a security imprint kinda thing. :/
