Hi guys 'n gals.

I have just built an RGB cable for my mk1 megadrive and would rather have stereo sound than mono. I know the AV out port only outputs in mono but is there any way of hooking up the headphone out to the line in of an amp or TV? Can you do this directly or would i have to buy/build an adapter to reduce the output level?

Cheers

Dougal

I'm using my headphone out without problems, and btw, there's a volume control, so even if it is too loud, just put the volume down, you should be ok

Yep. You just need a miniplug(headphone jack) to rca cable.

something like this:

You can also find short ones like these but with female rca ends, and use regular stereo rca cables to extend it.

(edit: 1/8, not 1/4..... edit again: okay just miniplug)

I think the recommended setting for the MD headphone output level is about halfway. Just listen carefully for any distortion and reduce the level of the headphone output if you hear any.
