Shenmue 2 Copy Protection/Region Lock-Out?

		Does the PAL version of Shenmue 2 (retail, not downloaded) have some kind of copy protection on disc 1? I've recently purchased it off ebay, and while discs 2, 3 and 4 load fine with a boot loader (Gameshark, DC-X, Utopia), disc 1 will not load. Is there any way to get around this?

		I've installed a modchip (4-pin version), and I played through the whole game without problems on my US machine.

		I've played Shemmue II on my US dreamcast with the DC-X. I got nearly to the end. It works. Hell, I even got the copy at my local EB Games.
