SCD Model @ MK-4102/4102A
Dunkelheit - Aug 30, 2005

Which of these two models hold generally hold up better? I've currently got both, the 4102s laser unit connects with around 3 seperate connectors, the 4102As connects with a single ribbon cable. Also, the 4102A appears to have more capacitors to control the lasers power.

Now, for the main part, my 4102A dosn't work. When its all hooked up, it just does nothing, no noise, no LED, nothing. Is this most likely a broken fuse? If so, whats the label on the fuse I need to replace?

I've already opened it up, there are no visible signs of damage, although there was a spider carcass and a bunch of webbing (i got it used).

where was the spider- i mean whereever it was, that's what you've probably got to replace.

Just an update on this.

I fixed the Sega cd by replacing the fuse (as shown on http://www.mrvfone.com.au/sega/fuse.htm).... The system works perfectly now, much better then my other SCD. It also plays the Snatcher disc I talked about earlier with no problems.
