Saturn 1:1 Burns Not Possible?
Startropic1 - Sep 15, 2010

I'm relatively new to Saturn tech (though I am quite familiar with many of the games.) I just got one and started looking into playing backups. I figured that due to the age of the system, by now it would be possible to burn 1:1 copies of games playable without needing a modchip. This still isn't the case? I've heard the copy protection is a section of data burned to the very outer edge of the disc. Current drives/software can write data to that area. You could use overburn if need be. So what is te current situation in this regard?

As far as I know, the current situation is that a few people understand how to do it in principle, but there are enough snags that actually making it work is hard.
