Question about building a mame cabinet. |

Does anybody recommend any arcade pads/joysticks/whatever input devices for a mame cabinet. I am looking at the X-Arcade... right now. |

That things looks real cool. Someday when I own a house, I want to have some arcade cabinets. Some original, and maybe a MAME. |

X-Arcades are decent, but if you're going to be building your own cab anyway you should just build your own controls as well. You can find tons of tutorials on the net; I recommend you go with either Happ or Sanwa for the parts (matter of preference), and use a J-pac (www.ultimarc.com...) for the encoder. You'll save money and end up with a higher quality setup. |

I would build your own control board If you need any help with the wiring, I and I'm sure others here have some experience. It is very easy to do and very rewarding to make your own. Here are a few pics of my mame cab I made several years ago, it was my very first one. Sorry for the low qual pics |
