Quake III Arena for DC

Just curious - in the multiplayer (offline, ie 4 player free for all) game, are the maps that are available from the outset the only maps you can use, or can more be unlocked? I'm thinking specifically the longest yard, which is sadly absent.

I have barely played the single player campaign, so I have no idea what you get when you beat maps.

Any and all info is appreciated...

Actually you can... I do remember various devices like the DEX drive for N64 and PSX allowing you to upload saves to your computer and download them back.
