Profits drop 34% for Sega Sammy

This bad result seems to come from the bad sales of the pachinko games (wasn't it the same last year ?). The arcade sales has again increased and some games like Yakuza 2 sold well .

Since Sammy bought Sega, how would it work if the pachinko unit tanked? I suppose they'd have to spin Sega off as part of a bankruptcy proceeding (if it were ever to happen... 34% is quite a significant drop).

This is a roundabout way of shamlessly prognosticating - Microsoft will buy Sega, in five years time. That is my guess.

It doesn't help that Sega hasn't been releasing too many quality titles either.

The only AAA title I can think of that came out recently is Virtua Fighter 5 for PS3. (Coming to Xbox 360)

They also, (more or less) destroyed the "Shining" series with mediocre crap on PS2 and GBA. They should have just re-released what they had with improved graphics and sound.

Where the hell is Dragon Force for PS2?! Or the Phantasy Star remakes collection?
