Story here...

So far I havent gotten many calls about this virus but I'm guessing tommorow I will. Viruses are good for business

New virus also opens backdoor in infected machines, which few news reports care to mention. Some people believe the SCO DDOS was just a ruse to cover the backdoor, in which case it has been a spectacular success. The DDOS part has a built-in deadline but the backdoor will stay open, enabling the virus creator to use the infected machines to send spam or whatever they can come up with.

It opens your pc as a spam relay. There's another version of this going around that targets microsoft also.

Why would SCO worry about it? They would be using their patented UNIX operating system anyway, wouldn't they?

I'm sure, but the 1000's of people using Windows that have the virus are what's beating up on the SCO servers.

Ah yes, how silly of me; still, that's not very poetic, is it?
