Let me guess, you didn't change the region code of the image? |
Gigatron | Mar 29, 2003 | |||
I'm using the 4 in 1 Cart, that shouldn't matter. |

Some more info describing what happens when it doesn't boot would be helpfull... |

Is this the first burned game that you're testing your modded Saturn with? Being able to play original games does not necessarily mean your "mod chip" is working. As IBarracudaI pointed out, what error message does your Saturn give you when you try to play this burned game? [*]Disc not suitable for this system [*]Game disc not suitable for this system
If you're going to do that, why not convert straight to ISO+WAV from your raw BIN+CUE image? Not only is it unnecessary, but converting to MP3 and then MP3 to WAV will only degrade the audio. |

I was hoping this chip would work. the last one i tried installing wouldn't let any game boot up so i exchanged it for a new one. This one at least let me boot up original discs. I don't know what else to do. My only option now is to actually but a CDR from someone in order to test to make sure it's not the chip, but then if it is the chip im stuck with a worhtless CDR. At this point I have no way of knowing if it's my mod chip or the disc. When i put the CDR in it takes me to the CD screen and lets me play the audio tracks. However the audio tracks sound all "scratchy." This so frustrating. All i wanted to do was to be able to play Radiant Silvergun without paying $150. Thanks for the help. |

You mentioned you used CDRWin to make the burn. Did you try to register it using a blacklisted serial, or are you using the demo version since you've burned it at 1X? |
Gigatron | Mar 29, 2003 | |||
I don't think it's the demo, since it doesn't prompt me to register. It was awhile ago since i downloaded it so I must have used a blacklisted serial number. |

Just for kicks, do go ahead and reburn the game as an ISO/WAV set... I don't know why but for some people, BIN/CUEs just won't work properly, something to do with the postgap after the data track... when you burn an iso/wav rather than a bin/cue, the recorder creates a new postgap while writing the CD - somehow that seems to ensure that things are proper - though I'm not sure why. I do know several people told me that games worked after converting the bin/cue to iso/wav. All that assuming you did download CDRWin from www.goldenhawk.com... and not some other shady source. n fact, did you use CDRWin 3.x/4.0 or CDRWin 5.0? The latter one is in fact a completely different program not by Goldenhawk, but by Padus, makers of Discjuggler... And if you're not sure whether your CDRWin is registered (legally or illegally): does it give you other burn speeds besides 1x to choose from? |

I have version 5.1, but it says Golden Hawk Technologies. It allows me to pick all speeds that my CD drive can burn at. I've also used it to burn a couple Sega CD games. I'll try burning in ISO/WAV. Would this be the correct format for the cue sheet?

Thanks again! |

Considering that 3.9C is the latest version that they offer for download at the Goldenhawk website... I'd say that you have one of the 'imposter' versions. I'm surprised that hasn't been shut down yet. Anyway, it's been a while since I've complied a cuesheet but that looks fine to me. |
