I have a 21 pin Saturn, with a modchip from jandaman, and I cannot get games from cdrs to load. Original games boot fine, but with burned games the Saturn tries to read it as an audio cd. I've used these instructions: http://web.archive.org/web/20011008002829/...atmod... and these to troubleshoot: http://www.robwebb.clara.co.uk/shop/saturn...rnchi... I've tried configuring the chip with the 0014 configuration and also the 0019 configuration, both the same results. I've also soldered onto pin 14 of the 32 pin chip, and when that didn't work, I tried the A+B method, which still didn't work. The burned games are from the same region as my saturn. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this issue? The only thing I've thought it could be was that the modchip wasn't in all the way, but I know that it is definitely in the slot as far as it can go. Does this mean I have a faulty/dead modchip? Thanks for any help. |

Try adjusting your laser - it may not be picking up CDR's correctly. Also is it the 64 pin cd board ? if so you may need a different mod chip. LE |

It's the 32 pin cd board. How would you suggest I go about adjusting my laser? |

Try looking at my links and see if they help: Installation: http://racketboy.blogspot.com/2005/01/sega...stall... Troubleshooting: http://racketboy.blogspot.com/2005/01/sega...stall... |

Yep, I've also looked at your links before I posted my problem. Every solder point has been looked at thoroughly to ensure a clean solder. |
