Help with a Debugging Station

I have a saturn debugging station that doesn't seem to work. Basicly i believe that the cross VCD board is damaged. The system doesn't spin disks and acts as if the ribbon cable to the cd drive is disconnected. The details of the system are here, along with pics of the internals:

Does anyone have any recomendations to try? Right now i'm stuck trying to source a second board and compare them with a multimeter to find the damaged component.

My second question, the bios is a UV erasable flash rom that claims to be version 1.00a. It is not the same as the retail bios, it has different options in the settings menu. Has this been dumped before, and if not is it worth dumping?

can't help you much since I never opened either of my Rev.B consoles... by the way I think these consoles are meant to be used with the dev box that sirs underneath - and you have to follow the strick on and off sequence according to Sega...

since these dev consoles are modified retail consoles the internals would be the same as retail except the VCD board and region switch is has one - there are different versions of dev consoles so...
