Well, I just got the game and played up to the first savepoint. I see potential in the game. It usually takes me awhile to get into the groove of all the carnage, but I think GoW will take me there. Although, I still must say that there is still no game which embodies the difficulty and brutality of next-gen games like Ninja Gaiden, a game which I am missing even as I write this. Nevertheless, GoW does not disappoint.
BTW, not that I should be one to criticize difficulty, but don't you guys think that GoW is easier than say DMC3 or NG? I'm not complaining. Maybe I'm just used to playing games like this that kick my ass repeatedly before I get a clue, and I've grown to like that aesthetic (am I masochistic?). Still, I restarted the game and am now playing it on Spartan (hard) difficulty. It doesn't seem much different from Normal, but the game is still fun, I can't complain. Also, it's only been in recent years that I've learned to appreciate the challenge of games - I used to play strictly for story - and only very recently have I grown to love such challenging games, so it's just me, rambling |
