Games with zoomed sprites

Well I'm looking for SMS games with zoomed sprites (I hope I ask in the right forum part). Any idea ?

NB : biggest sprites may not be zoomed sprites

I don't think there were any... from the many I've seen. The closes thing to a zoom I remember in the SMS were the fake multi-sprites in games like Afterburner, Outrun and Road Rash.

BTW, Road Rash is *very* impressive, an unexpectedly worthy port by Probe, and I have no idea on how they managed to get it to look so good in the SMS. It's like the Genesis version, with a slightly lower framerate and a fewer colors.

are you sure there are zoomed sprites on SMS ?!

i thought it was GG only

+ according to Charles MD, their is a bug on the SMS VDP for zoom sprites..so perhaps it"s why peopled don't use it

I saw that too but hoped/thought there were some games using zoomed sprites (only x2). Maybe the games using this capability are quite rare.

The sega genesis VDP can emulate the SMS one (mode 4).

Why the Genesis VDP (in mode 5) doesn't support zoomed sprites?

The Genesis VDP doesn't support zoomed sprites in Mode 4 either.
