I have many GAME BASIC samples and I'd like to test them. What is needed to run them, Is there a compiler ?

After seeing game basic referred to in a post here, I've been searching for some info on it as well. All I've come up with so far is a picture with the case and some kind link cable to connect to a pc, and one link that came back to the segaxtreme devtools page

it looks to me like game basic is maybe more of an interpreter than a complier: you edit the game code on the pc but then send it to the saturn which then uses the interpreter to run it?

there's GAME BASIC packages from SEGA for Mac and Win from memory. It always comes with link cable to PC so I believe you need to run it in tandem with PC? My memory is hazy and having no copy myself for many moons I'm bit lost but that's what I remember from back in 90s...
