Is there a cheat to be able to play all the bonus arcade games in Shenmu without having to actually reach them all during game play first?

Thanks,

JMT.

Are you talking about Shenmue 1? Because you can basically just walk straight to the arcade after the introductory cutscene IIRC.

For either game, you could always download a completed save file and just use that.

Yeah, shenmu 1.

I read a walkthrough faq for the game, and, at least according to the walkthrough, each of the arcade games are located in different places, some of them secret places. And you can't get to them until you've reached certain points in the game, such as beating somebody or finding something else. So is the walkthrough bull, and you can just find them all in the arcade right away? Or is the walkthrough right, and you need to "unlock" them so to speak as the game progresses? Another walkthrough/faq said you needed to achieve X million points first to unlock certain games.

only arcade games i ever saw in Shenmue 1 were Hang-On and Space Harrier. They were always in the YOU Arcade.

What does Yu Suzuki Game Works have on it?

really though i'd go with MAME

JMT, what you are describing sounds more like Shenmue II. If I am not mistaken, in the original the only way to play the arcade games is to go to Game You. Or you can play Space Harrier or Hang On at Ryo's house if you win the Saturn games from the raffle.

Argh. I can't just walk to the arcade from his house. When I go down the road to the town with the arcade, he says "I better see if anyone around here saw anything" or something like that, and turns around. It won't let me go to the arcade until I complete some X amount of the story I guess.

I know I'm a heretic. But flying around and shooting things is just more fun to me than walking around, getting a job driving a forklift, and bringing food home to fill the fridge.

Ah well. That's what my 32X is for. I was just curious how better, if better, Space Harrier looked on the Dreamcast.
