audiocrusher with the lame or blade codec.

 Boddah Oct 31, 2001
where do i get it????

 IceDigger Oct 31, 2001
do a websearch on it. audiocrusher.com might exist, but I dunno.

MusicMatch Jukebox 6.10...

AudioCrusher 1.2...

 Chiraz Oct 31, 2001
I'd go for musicmatch too!

 Boddah Oct 31, 2001
Audiocrusher works fine guys (u do need to download a mp3 decoder seperately but it dosent matter) and musicmatch is shareware to rip cds to mp3s with it u need to spend money.

btw wots with this .ogg format none of the players i have support it

WebAttack.com... says MusicMatch Jukebox is freeware, just like how it stated AudioCrusher... was freeware.

As for ogg vorbis, do a search at WebAttack.com for ogg vorbis to find some freeware players for it.

Ogg-Vorbis... is the sweetest audio encoder!

Have used it only on one file, but to quote Mo Threat, its the shiznit

encodes in about the same time as MP3s, sound quality is better for the bitrate (ie 128kbps in ogg is better than in mp3), and the plugins and encoders are tiny!

Best thing is tho, is that the whole thing is open source and free, so no one needs a license to use it!

i was actually gonna suggest that maybe ppl submit their soundtracks using it, but it aint as widespread as MP3

CDEx (www.cdex.n3.net...) is super sweet. Completely freeware, it includes the LAME codec straight out of the box - no need to find the codec seperately - also has out-of-the-box support for other codecs like Ogg.

Easy to use too...

I was able to use ogg vorbis at 80kbps with nearly no distinguishable difference on a Jimi Hendrix album... nice stuff!
