cart swapping,

			Hi All I own a few jap saturn titles that need the cart as well as the disc. I own a cd plus cart for playing imports and have to swap carts for playing these jap titles. Im worried this may not be so good for the saturn, has anyone had bad experiences doing this? Also i know the action replay can act as an ad on cart but do these work for imports as well?? Help appreciated

			Yes, the action replay does region unlock as well. By the way, swapping carts while the system is running can destroy the cartridge slot.

			Not slot, system. It's the equivalent of installing a new ram while the PC is running.

			actually cart swapping does work, but with the extremely shitty quality of the slot, it'll die within a month of regular swapping. the slot was not meant for that kinda stress.

			Oh dear, i am now shuddering from the abuse to the system. Thanks for all of your help. Hate to be a pain but do both the action replay 4 in 1 and 5 in 1 work in this situation? There is one available at a local shop for a cost, its expensive so i need to make sure.

That is very true. It can also destroy the Cartridge.

I use to use gameshark to play imports but couldn't play Streetfighter Vs. Xmen without the 4mb cart. So i swapped evertime i played that game. Long story short, I am lucky as hell that my cartridge port is ok but my Gameshark is shot to hell.

			if it looks like the cart that is being sold on jandaman.com then it's the one you need.

That'll work fine, so long as you don't wanna use KOF95, as that uses a custom ROM cart as opposed to a RAM cart.

			Bummer, It just so Happens that KOF95 is the one in particular that i like the most.... So the 4 in and 5 in 1 are no good for this,, I think i'll do a region mod. Thanks all

			...or you can mod your Saturn and use CD-R copy of KOF95, with changed country code.

			Ok I decided to buy a 6 switch dipswitch and solder the jumpers to the corresponding switches. Half way through doing this the solder iron snapped! umm, great. Anyhoo, with no region setup yet i used the broken solder to solder the jap switches and crossed my fingers. So the machine is now playing perfectly in jap mode so i can play the cart games. The region cart i have (Cd + Plus) just so happens to work for all my PAL titles, Its worked out well.
