Bent Fin on A Heatsink
Zziggy00 - Dec 1, 2004

I'm in the process of building a new PC and during the shipping process there must have been something that put some pressure on a heatsink on the motherboard...

If you look at the picture it's one of the fins on the heatsink surrounded by the red circle...

It's not bent badly, I could try and bend it back, but you bend metal too many times and *snap*

So do you think I could just leave it and be fine?

** THIS IS NOT AN ACTUAL PICTURE, on actual board one of the corner fins is slightly bent...

I wouldn't worry about it. You've still got the same surface area disipating heat.

can't see how it would be a problem

It won't hurt it at all, had a similar problem before.
