You gotta love Capcom! They are nobody's bitch and it shows in that list. |
ExCyber | Dec 21, 2001 | |||
Incidentally, that list is definitely not complete. |

As a matter of fact, I tried to add some things that were missing, I gave up from so many #### entries. Nobody said Gamefaqs was complete. |

I disagree:

Dino Crisis 1, Resident Evil 2, (the first one on the pc was publshed by virgn) Mega Man X 1-4 on the PC so ya know. |

There are many more games that they have released for Saturn! I know many. Some were only released in Europe and Japan. |

Okay, now try putting all that data into into an HTML file using tables and nice colors. |

I bought SFA2 and SPF2T for PC from Electronics Boutique a while back; both were $7.99 each Some of those zn-based games (arcade dumps) can be played with an emulator on PC. However, the last time I tried the emulator, it played hella slow on my computer since I'm still using my PII 400 / 384MB RAM / 16MB VRAM. |

Don't worry about the zn emulator, the development of it was stopped due to leechers and lamers so the games don't run perfect even in a fast pc. |

A MAME driver exists for ZN1/ZN2, but it's apparently incomplete and is not included in the official builds. It also (for now) uses an interpretive CPU emulator, so it would probably be quite slow anyway. Still, ZN1/ZN2 emulation is not a lost cause just because Impact is discontinued. |

well i was trying to refrain myself from getting into the topic of emulators, but i guess i cant help it. in my opinion kawaks is the best cps1/2/neo emu for the mere fact it is updated more often compared to the others. and it runs slightly faster on most systems. wasnt there something like 'ace' or somethign where they tried to implement really early support of zn games? anyway, most of the games that do run are emulated quite nicely on impactemu (in my opinion). yes, it could be better, but it runs. also in the age where tekken 2 and soul edge are emulated on computers, it's only matter of time before someone picks up the project again. but my point was that someone could at least officially port the ex series on the pc. i think it would be moderately successful, given they port it correctly and uh make sure to polish it a little. like how microsoft ported metal gear solid, which in my opinion was the BEST psx-to-pc port so far. oh well |

The only PSX to PC port I have a clear memory of playing is Megaman X4. Aside from the fact that it could have used some PC-specific tweaks (the save handling code, for example, was an obvious holdback from the PSX version - it gives you two "slots" in which you can save three games each), it was pretty smooth sailing. However, it was probably coded to be highly portable from the beginning since it was also on Saturn. Makes me wonder how much trouble it would have been for them to put X5 and X6 (which appear to make heavy use of code recycled from X4) on e.g. Dreamcast... |

no mention of the 3DO port of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.. The most faithful port to any console to date, IMO fact is, the PC gaming market is much riskier than the console market, and PC gamers dont generally go for the console type games.. I saw guilty gear X get a PC port in the last month (and it plays great), but thats an abhorration.. PC gamers like their quake and diablo clones, and detest using something as primitive as a joystick or gamepad to play their games.. Personally I'd rather kick back on the couch and play on the big screen.. I'm stuck in front of this monitor too much as it is.. Capcom has hands down always been my fav. gaming house.. To me the quantity means nothing compared to the quality of their games.. On pretty much every console yet they've produced the best looking and playing games in any genre.. Who better than mega man on the nes? And noones nailed a fighter the way they did with Street Fighter 2.. BTW there was no mention of the NES version of 'Willow', which was another one of my fav's from that console.. Capcom kicks ass.. nuff said.. keep em comin |
