I've run into this before as well. I just spent some time right now testing all my peripherals to see what kind of combinations work, etc. and here's my results:
-Doesn't work with any peripheral in port 2 unless port 1 has a standard pad plugged in
-Goes screwy if just mouse is connected in port 1
-Doesn't do anything if just keyboard is connected to port 1
-Goes back to normal if you plug a standard pad in port 1
iirc it also uses SMPC control mode, so it might just be that for whatever the reason the developers decided only to check OREG1 and OREG2 for standard pad data regardless of whether a standard pad was plugged in port 1 or not. |
