About game quality

Why game quality was not improved after Sega Rally and Virtua Fighter 2 ? Sega claimed they were using only 50% of the power of the Saturn at this time but nothing better came after, I think about THOTD, Fighting Vipers, etc. They improved their dev kits with results not so impressive.

I don't agree as far as visual quality is concerned. Later titles introduced advanced lightning effects, gouraud shading was more frequently used then.

However, it's a shame that SEGA hasn't used the chance to release sequels to popular and great games like SEGA Rally, Nights, Ecco and Sonic. A shame , too, that they concentrated on arcade racing titles only.

If only EA had continued to make games for Saturn, so we were left with only one NFS game on Saturn and not a single EA game on DC.

"Project Berkeley" clearly had some impressive visuals, and Virtua Fighter 3 undoubtedly would have been impressive as well (it was under development, but was scrapped so it could be a DC exclusive).

i thought close to all games were not using the Saturn's full potential...

That raises the question what is Saturn actual power? Close to the N64? PSX?
