a Q for those who have played uncut Snatcher

			OK. Downloaded Snatcher US (iso/mp3) and it works (except for some of my voice being "off" by about 2 secs now and then, will worry about that later) I've never played the game before now and know that if you enter the code KONAMI you get the "uncut" version... but it doesn't seem to work. As soon as I started the game for the first time, I found my way and entered the code, and have been playing ever since... but on the places that are supposed to be "uncut"... there seems to be no change. I think one is when Alice is tossed through a window... her body is supposed to "twitch" but not on my copy. Then there's the "shower" sceene... from what I understand there's supposed to be nudity, but I don't get that either. Ideas?? remarks?? Thanks.

			that was just a rumor, to play the 'uncut' version, you must play the japanese version.

			actually, I think without the konami code, you don't see the nipple shape through the towel in the shower scene. that's the only "uncensored" part. there's never fully nudity, I doubt konami would've let that slip.

			OK... I've been able to see the nipple through the towel. Q - does the jap version have nudity?? Q - what about the dog "twitching" after being tossed through the window?? Is that in the jap version?? Thanks guys!! You've been able to shed some light on this for me. TK.

			yes the japanese version has nudity and yes it has a twitching dog. Also the konami code doesn't do anything the nipples are visable if you play it with out it.

			alright, now I'm getting it... Last question(s)... Can the jap version of snatcher be converted to a US version using one of those converter programs?? Is there a place where I might find the jap version at least... all I've seen is the US version at all the ftps I've gone. Is there a traslated version of the jap version? lastly... What's the "best" version of snatcher (graphic wise)... I've heard of a saturn snatcher but from what I hear it's only a jap version. What's my chance of downloading the saturn snatcher and burning the CD and using it on my saturn... that has never been moded??? Thanks again, TK.

If you're referring to converting Japanese text to English text, then no, it's not that simple. If you're referring to the region code so you can play it on a US Saturn, then yes it is possible.

Your chance of downloading it depends on your chance of finding it. Your chance of being able to play it on your un-modded (US??) Saturn would depend on a) your swapping skills if you don't plan to mod it; or b) your chance of buying a modchip board and installing it.

			thank you MasterAkumaMatata!! I don't plan on moding my US saturn... I will later (like in a year or more) -- Have to buy the supplies and such.. what's involved in this "swapping" stuff?? Are you talking about having 2 discs and swapping in and out of the saturn... or replacing files then burning the CD??

Yes, swapping between 2 discs (one original, one backup). Read some of the swap faqs found in the Miscellaneous... page. Keep in mind that you'll still have to perform a little hardware modification on your Saturn to enable you to do the swap trick. See the faqs for the details.

Yeah, this is true, without the KONAMI code she's less "perky"

(I think, others say different...)

One more thing... the Japanese version has nudity? I thought that was illegal (or is that just below the waist...)

			yes in japan they can't show pubic hair or anything below, but topless girls in games is common(well depends on the game). Why are nipples horrible cynnamin?

			I just played through to Sega CD version myself. Do any of you guys know for sure that the Japanese Sega CD version contains Alice twitching and the nudity? I seem to remember reading long ago that those elements were changed even in the Japanese version. I do know that there is nudity and the twitching dog in the PC Engine version and probably the MSX one..... About the voices being out of sync.....it's related to the actual files rather than the emulation, right? So wouldn't fixing a cue sheet with correctly timed pre and post gaps and burning the game correct the problem?

			i found out there is no japanese sega cd version awhile ago. I haven't played throught the whole game with the newest emulator but i had a correct cue sheet for snatcher and everyonce in awhile the lips would be out of sync(i used the cue sheet that gives you the full intro)

			There is no Japanese version of Snatcher on SCD. The English version is considered the best version out of all of them. The PSX version is usually considered the worst. As for the censorship thing. It's not really a big deal. What we didn't get were.... In the Japanese versions Katrina is 14! In our version she is 18. In the Japanese version you can watch Gilliant and MG watch a porno (you don't actually see it) in Plato's Cavern. In the Japanese versions Alice twitches. Thats basically the only things "censored" in our verison.
