50/60hz switch question

			I have a model 2 21 pin Saturn and I'm trying to mod it to have a 50/60 hz switch. Have a motherboard which is WAY different to the one I have. Then I remembered that there was a mod I performed ages ago where I use a pencil to bridge the JP1 gap to make it 60hz but when I soldered a wire onto each point and then wired it to a switch so that turning it so that it connects the bridge and makes it 60 and turning it off un bridges the gap. Sadly, this was theory and when I powered it up the power light just keeps flashing and doesn't turn on. Where am I going wrong with this? http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/sega/saturn5060....
