Out of curiosity, does the Saturn make a good VCD player? The Dreamcast skips and leaves a lot of nasty artifacts.

From what I have heard from my customers the thing works great.

*edit thought your were talking about the dc one

i think it depends if you have a pal machine/vcd or not though, and which version of the card you get

I have a Sega VCD card and it works great. I haven't had any problems with it and the picture quality is quite good. If you have a lot of VCDs or make your own it's definitely worth it. BTW my Saturns are NTSC, works in both my US(need a cart) and Japanese Saturns.

So the VCD card works for both Japanese and American models? I might have to pick one up...

Those VCD cards seems to be great. I think i am going to get one. Two question thought : Can any VCD card work on my PAL Saturn?

Can i burn my own movies, or do i need a modchip or something to play them?

I think original sega carts have a country lockout, but I am not sure. as for burning your own, vcds have no copy protection, so they will work, with or without mod.
