fucking god damed big brother

i just saw on cnn headline news that us senator hatcher or congressman whaterver - his name is hatcher is trying to get this legislation passed that will monitor all the shit you do on the net and if you are downloading copyrighted material they will send somehting to destroy your computer (if warned more than twice - the third time they will destroy your pc)

he says the computer industry is not doing enough to combat piracy and this is what he wants passed

this was on cnn headline news - so if its on in your area they keep repeating the stories every hour so you can check it out

 Shitface Jun 18, 2003
I don't think it'll pass. If it does then 95% of all computers with internet access will be destroyed!!!

The guy is a big ol' doosh bag who probobly couldn't get some mp3 or porn that he wanted and is taking it out on everyone else.

 joe81 Jun 18, 2003
that'll never happen if so lol many many many people will be very very pissed and things will change

 Jaded God Jun 18, 2003
yea the poor man will then be assassinated by someone

Wouldn't it be illegal to monitor what people do on their personal computers? That would be an invasion of privacy big time.

Yes it would. But it wouldn't be illegal to look at what is GOING to your personal computer. Just like it's not illegal for a cop to look in your parked car to see if you have anything bad in there or to look at what you're buying in a store on their security cameras.

It really all comes down to WHERE the looking takes place.

But yes blowing up your pc is not a good thing and I SERIOUSLY HOPE that never goes through. Thank god I live in Canada where we don't have these complete morons making up these bullshit laws. (We just have legal Marijuana use )

 ratfish Jun 18, 2003
I heard that marijuana use in Canada was common anyways and they just made it legal for the hell of it, just so they could say that it's legal now. Somebody told me that when he went to the big C last year, there were some pot-smoking hippies in the same coffee place as some police and they didn't care at all.

Hmm, with laws that lenient, that would be a nice place to live.

I hate Canada :flamethrower:

 IceDigger Jun 19, 2003
I garuntee you 100% that this will not pass. About 3/4 of my clientel have a bunch of music that they downloaded from napster/kazaa. If they did this then just about everybody with a computer will be angry.

Don't even worry yourself about it.

 Tindo@heart Jun 19, 2003
A lot of stupid things are said by people that don't understand the technology. This will never happen.

BTW, this same guy recieved over $18,000 US dollars last year from copyrighted music revenue(TechTV) . . . . so, the guy is just guardin' his pocketbook.
