sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share News of this has been around for a while now. There is some speculation that the emulator is actually GiriGiri... |
ExCyber | Mar 28, 2003 | |||
sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share It goes beyond speculation; the emulator used is known to be largely based on GiriGiri. |

sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share Source? |

sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share http://cyberdisc.zaq.ne.jp/... It IS based on Giri-giri...... |

sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share Yes, I've seen that site several times before... I too hold the opinion that it is based on Giri Giri, but ExCyber stated that it is known to be the case and I was wondering what his source of confirmation was. |

sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share I think that too, I'd love to try it but when I download Gurusen.exe I can't install it because it can be installed only on japanese windows |

sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share Have you tried temporarily switching your locale to Japanese? Some programs are fooled by that simple trick. |

sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share Considering the number of people who seem to be hanging out for good Saturn emulation, I'm surprised there's not a hacked version 'out' yet. |

Can't say at the moment... |

sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share I posted about this too, I managed to install the Cyberdisc program. When you play Shining Force 3, the window name of the program is Girigiri. If anyone has Windows 2000, I can help anyone install the program. Internet Explorer 6 is also required to install it as well. |
vbt | Mar 29, 2003 | |||
sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share Are you sure IE6 is needed to launch the install prog. ? I have only Win98 1st edition and IE 5.5 so both are not supported. could you put somewhere a compressed file containing the installed emu ? Many soft works without making a correct installation, it's worth to try. |

sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share According to the system requirements... page, you need "Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2 or Internet Explorer 6.0." Also, you need at least Windows 98 Second Edition. |
vbt | Mar 29, 2003 | |||
sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share And you forgot the main problem "Japanese edition operating system is necessary". |

sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share If they've gone to the trouble of 'creating' this, they may as well sell it (everywhere that is). It'd cost nish for them to offer it as a download you pay for. |

Well yes, but you've already mentioned that in a previous post, so I thought that was a given. :smash

sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share If you have windows 2000, you can just change your regional settings to Japanese, that should be enough to install it. I don't know where the file that contains the emulator is, gurusen.exe isn't just the emulator, it's a virtual cd drive program like Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%, it also runs other sega pc games. After you install gurusen.exe, you can download the trial versions of the games offered. All of them are .bin files, but I doubt you could just replace the .bin with any other game, I tried opening the .bin with CDmage in all the modes and sector sizes, it didn't work. |

sega has emulated the sega saturn but won't share The emulator, emulator launcher, autorun file, game image, bios, and various other files are all located in the image you download from cyberdisc(called cachefile.bin). And like dnguyen800 said, it definitely is a type of cd image, but a propriety one. It includes a nasty feature that allows the content creator to mark which files they want the end-user to be able to read, and which ones to copy-protect. In all honesty, the protection has already been broken and the emulator will soon be in circulation, but I wonder if any of you guys can figure out how to extract and run the emulator yourself. (open these in a new window, don't just click on them) http://members.tripod.com/gavionne/images/...acx-s... http://members.tripod.com/gavionne/images/...acx-s... http://members.tripod.com/gavionne/images/.../pn-s... http://members.tripod.com/gavionne/images/...sf3-s... http://members.tripod.com/gavionne/images/...ach-s... http://members.tripod.com/gavionne/images/...ach-s... |

Not needed anymore. Gav was my "source", I just didn't want to encourage anyone to bug him about it before he decided everything was ready... |
