Saturn Sequence Format Specs v2.00(1994.8.20)
CyberWarriorX - Oct 24, 2002

I used SndSim's ASCII output as my reference and managed to document the -real- seq format, which is ironically very different than what sega provided in official docs. You can get it here:

http://www.emuxhaven.net/~translationnext/...s/seq...

I've also been working on a saturn seq->mid converter. Anyone familiar with seq2mid will understand what this program does.

Here's a few samples of what my program has been outputting:

Note: Some of these files are from various stages of development, so I can't say they'll sound the same when I finally decide to release my program. I also re-arranged the instruments in a few of them to make them sound better.

A cookie will be awarded to whoever can name which games the midi's belong to.

[Edit: Whoops, fixed a few bugs in the converter and had to make a few revisions to the Specification doc. If you've already downloaded it, make sure you have Revision 1, if not, re-download it.]

Albert Odyssey: b27.mid..., snd_d13.mid..., yay10.mid..., might be more that I don't recognize

Sakura Taisen: yay6.mid..., yay8.mid...

As for the others, I'm guessing in the ranges of Langrisser III, Langrisser IV, Magic Knight Rayearth, Snatcher, Cotton 2, Farland Symphony, Grandia, etc.

Are these enough to get a cookie?

yay01 goes to Langrisser 4!!!

I have yet to get myself ahold of that game! But I am scouring ebay for a good deal on it!

Any updates cyber?

Yes, I've been working every so often on the new version. Basically the program is in the "release candidate" stage now. I don't want to give out all the details(or I'll have a number of lamers begging me for a release) but I've basically gone through and fixed a number of bugs in the actual seq->midi conversion process(so the output midi's are more accurate) among a number of other things. The next release(no date decided yet) will definitely be a nice one. It'll hopefully be either the last one, or the second last one as well(as I'm pretty close to getting everything that's needed included).

where are you cwx, you have left us!

 CyberWarriorX Nov 30, 2002
No money = no internet service. I've basically been forced to use some el cheapo(free) service that doesn't provide me with a whole lot of time.
