Power Supply Question

Hi,

I need to get 5V from the power supply for a mod install. I know on 4 pin power supplies, the 5V is the second from the top. But I have a 5 pin power supply, is 5V still second from the top?

Thanks.

yes, from my experience, it's always the 2nd from top on 5 pins p/s :cheers

It should be the second from the top.

The power supply I'm looking at right now has

9v

5v

3.3v

0v

0v

To be absolutely sure, have a look at the top of the circuit board just to the left of the connector; the different voltages should be printed there.

I actually looks for the labels first, but this power supply board didn't have any!

I don't have a multimeter to hand so can't be 100%, but it should be ok if you guys say so.

Fair enough.

Mine has them marked so I guessed all of them would.

Just to be sure, the top that I refer to is the end that has the mains power socket on it.

There is another type of 5 pin power supply that I forgot to mention.

It will make no difference to the instructions already given, but it's good to be as complete as possible.

9v

5v

5v

0v

0v

As you can see, one has 3.3v on the 3rd pin and the other has 5v.
