		what format you have robot carnival in cynn? waiting for a region one release on dvd, think imma have to get an import copy though.

Got it kickin around here on VHS, actually. I haven't any idea where it is, as much of my good stuff is in storage.... I don't know that it will be released on DVD here in the US, but you can hope. It's a lot more fun to import, anyway.

		Unico is an OLD SCHOOL Sanrio character, one of Hello Kitty's friends. The Unico movies were the FIRST EVER Sanrio movies released in the US AFAIK. It's really cute fluffy kid stuff so I'm SURE none of you would enjoy it, but one of my all time favorite songs comes from the first Unico flick.

		i think i remember that, disney channel, mid-eighties? one of them had a song by pink floyd in the soundtrack and there was a little demon who needed a horn so the unicorn lent him hers. and a wall made of petrified humans actually some heavy shit for sanrio come to think of it

Yes indeed... the devil's name is Beezil and eventually Unico meets a cute little kitty that wants to be a girl and sings one of the greatest songs in the WHOLE word -

"My ribbon's red, my whiskers long, my paws as white as snow... and every day, I sing this song, no matter where I go... I'm a CAT..." etc etc

So anyway, Unico turns her into this HOT HOT chick who wanders off into the forest one night and well.. I'll stop here. Let's just say that for a KIDS movie AND for sanrio, it is DAMN heavy, especially the "villain" of the story.

*sighs* And I always thought the Night Wind was SO goddamn sexy.

That's the brief synopsis of The Adventures of Unico, there are two more little flicks about Unico that I have also but I've never watched becuase the tape is NOT in good condition and I don't want to mess it up. Eventually I'm gonna find other copies of them. I don't think the Disney channel ever showed the other two Unico movies (at least, not as far as I recall or can find info on) but they did show CLIPS of the other two when doing commercials about the first one - ie. wall of petrified humans. That's not in the first Unico movie, IIRC.

If you want to do research about Unico, there is VERY little that you can find from Sanrio, most of it is fan-made stuff.

I've only ever found mention of him once or twice on their pages when I've done research.

		Does all Asian cartoons count? Chinese cartoons look a lot like Japanese cartoons, if not exacty the same in style and quality. I guess even then, Im not such a big cartoon fan so theres nothing to list

		dvd region 1 jin-roh ,special ed. macross + ova, vol 1 + 2 macross +, movie ed. spring and chaos a night on the galactic railroad serial experiments lain, all of them urusie yatsura t.v., vol 1-10 urusie yatsura beautiful dreamer gee, doesn't really seem like much considering i've spent hundreds of dollars on it back to the subject of unico the last time i saw it ( i think i was 7) i don't remeber even really liking it. yet since the subject's come up i've hit numerous video stores trying to find a copy and tuesday night i came this close to blowing 50$ at half.com to pick up the two movies. 50$ on dubbed vhs tapes. for something i don't think i even like. truly nostalgia is a strange and powerful beast, frightening also
