I'm wondering if a tool like Omnipage pro is able to recognize japanese characters. Can someone give me an advice on how to move a scan of a japanese documentation to a word document ? And also which OCR supports japanese chars.

office 2003's image document viewer thing lets you highlight and copy paste japanese text into word from scans

There's also kanjiocr and one by brother I think called Japanese OCR(it's my personal favorite, although it's in jap, and I'm not sure what it costs to buy the full version). As always, experiment with a few of them(you can get trial versions of the two I mentioned) and buy the one you like.
