I need to know how many bytes of the header data are read to the memory during the boot of the machine to bootstrap memory location. The primary objective is attempt to manually hack SCDCONV unsupported JP games to work with US SCD units and then make the patches as 32k files (usually known as "IP.BIN") so people can apply these to the games.

i'd love to help, but you're talking a little over my head here. it'd probably be easier to talk about this over a messenger, so you can send an icq number, msn, aol, or yahoo nick to sega_cd_backup@hotmail.com... and i'll get a hold of you.

if you can get it to work you will be a god, try www.eidolons-inn.de... they have some hard core tech guys over there.

I just figured out what I were looking for... Actually you can tell the Mega-CD how many bytes you want it to load to the ram by changing a word value in the "System ID" block (I.E.: the first 1024 bytes of the ISO)

Now I am compiling the information I got so I can get some good use for it ...

And yeah ... I got the info I needed from Eidolon's Inn ... Nothing like a great source of information to clear minds "clouded" by ignorance.
