My Modchip Fried

I took my mod out of my Sat this weekend and tossed it in the garbage. It had fried. However, I left the blue wire soldered to the CD board. If I order a new mod (probable), will it be okay to just solder the blue wire to the chip? And then take the blue wire that comes with the chip off? Or should I completely resolder everything?

How did it get fried in the first place? Was it defective, or did you abuse your Saturn?

as long as the cable was soldered well and properly, and you didn't leave the other end of the wire blank inside the saturn, you should be fine.

What do you mean by "blank inside the Saturn"? As in... the wire is soldered to the cd board, and the other end not soldered? Um.... That blue wire is the only mod related thing in my Sat. It's soldered to the cd board, and I tuck the wire under the ribbon going from the CD board to the motherboard. So... is that what you mean by "blank inside the Saturn"?

as long as the end of the wire isnt touching anything metal (ie wrap some tape round the end of it) it should be fine
