Hi all

Im using this modchip:

I tried after look at this page:

http://www.nerdcave.de/stuff/modchip-howto.html...

Its other modchip, but im using the same idea (cut 21 pin wire to insert it)

Well, now Im getting the access led on, menu appears, and CD doesnt rotate.

I know 20 pin wires are ok since I tried to put it on the left pin and then access led doesnt light.

Any idea?

Regards.

First of all if your model 1 saturn has 20 pin, your modchip won't work on it because as i see your modchip has 21 pin and most model 1 if not all has only 20 pin socket. Cutting the 21 pin ribbon wire to make it fit on to a 20 pin socket is not a good idea because you are missing a signal to and from the mobo and modchip, and it might damage yor lens be careful on what you do to your sega saturn it's hard to find a good saturn nowadays

I read here:

How people mod an 21 modchip to 20. So I think theres a way..

Anyone?

In that thread, they are talking about how to mod a specific mod chip so it can be used on a 20pin model one. In order to do it with the one in your pic, someone would have to trace the connections and figure out which ones need to be re-routed

It would be much easier to just get the same type of mod chip shown in that thread and follow the directions there
