modchip V2

Did you guys tried modchip V2?? It supposely works with 64 pin IC. also, it has a crystal clock on it. Maybe this has something to do with the imcompatibility of first modchip with 64 pins IC (timing, maybe).

I haven't been able to get one to work with my 64 pin Saturn.

BTW calling them v2 is a bit of a misnomer. I believe the mods that you plug straight into the mainboard are a later design.

A dealer that sells both mods told me that V2 works on all Saturns that the straight one works, and more.

Sales people are very good at that.

But he sells both modchips...

Do you think not-V2 version is better??

 mal Aug 17, 2004
I really don't know.

Myself and a couple of other forum members bought these 'v2' mods to try in 64 pin Saturns and IIRC none of us had any luck with them.

That kind of pissed me off a bit and I really haven't been bothered following it up at any great length since initially messing around with it.

And V2 didn't work on 32 pin either¿??

And did you guys manage to make a not-V2 chip work on any 64 pin Saturn??

I haven't yet tried it in a 32 pin Saturn. I'm sure it would work though.

Read through the How to mod a 32 pin Saturn... thread at the top of the forum for the answer you seek.

Thank you, I already read almost all of it.

As you may know, I want to find out how to make a home-made modchip, so I 'll get both of them.

I'm glad knowing that MrSporty has made some great progress on the matter.

I hope soon we have a way of making it.

I was hoping that you had because it gets difficult trying to explain the whole Gamegizmo mods thing.
