Mod chip problems

I have a 64 pin PAL Saturn and I read the post where someone installed it in their 64 pin Saturn and can play games with this chip:

http://www.robwebb.clara.co.uk/shop/saturn...rnchi...

So I ordered it and tried that method and nothing. I soldered the A and B together and tried both 0014 and 0019 and I always, the audio track from the CD plays but with the 2 green spheres in the CD player. Does this mean I have to find a 32 pin Saturn?

no, youll have to solder directly to your 64 pin chip.... some 64 pin saturns dont work with the cross over method right on the chip.

[EDIT] Im a momo, i spelled solder wrong.

Does anyone have a picture of the exact place to solder on a 64 pin chip?

just count 8 pins from the side closest to the cd laser.

Another question. Should the wire be connected to the "A" part of the mod chip and is it the 8th pin from the top of the chip? Also, can using a tape to hold the wire down work?

I can't recall anyone that has had soldering to the 64 pin IC work when the 'A+B' method has failed. :huh

Tape may work in the short term, but I think it could lead to problems further down the track.

hrmmm... i never reported that in my saturn. ? . well here it is, my 64 pin wouldnt work with the AB crossover method but did when i soldered it directly to the chip.

Fair enough then.

I can't see why it wouldn't have worked...
