On Friday 20 July, IBM demonstrated a new technology that allows chips to dynamically adjust themselves. IBM calls the new technology "eFuse". It involves fusable links in chips that can be destroyed to open circuits and re-wire the internal pathways. When the eFuse technology is included in a central processor unit, the CPU can measure its own performance and calculate how to reconfigure itself for best throughput. Could this have prevented RolfWrenWalsh's PowerBook failure...?
