I made my own arcade cabinet :)

My first attempt ever. It's made out of styrofoam project board and hot glue, and the horribly crappy buttons actually work! They're made from an old keyboard I have. It runs off of MAME on my iBook, but it's fun to play and it looks neat for the 4-5 hours it took.

I'm going to print off full-size arcade decals to go on it.

Thats pretty cool what are the joysticks and the screen made out of?

It's all just that foam-cardboard project board you get at office stores. The screen is just an LCD monitor hooked up to my computer.

I put in an old keyboard inside and glued the buttons made out of blank plastic bottle caps on top. I cut holes for them and it actually plays pretty well.

I'll probably make a serious one out of wood in a few months.

It's a good design all you need to do now is a real one

How rigid is that? With a little decorative painting, I imagine no one could tell the difference. Kudos!

Thanks!

It's actually pretty flimsy, but I just need to do another round of gluing the joints together. And it'll be sweet once I get the decals on there.

Just to keep sizes relative, how big is that LCD?

It's like a 15"-17" 1024x768. The entire thing is pretty tiny, it's sitting on my desk.
