How to fix Megadrive/Genesis unit?

			I bought a NTSC J Megadrive unit that's been modified to play PAL games.. all my jap carts runs at PAL 50Hz. I didn't know about the stepdown adapter then so I was wondering why my Megadrive broke down a few years after I bought it. Before it broke down, I noticed when I move the power cable, the machine would turn off and when I move it around, it'll turn back on. I assume the adapter is broken and not the system itself. Can someone expert confirm this?

			Since the Megadrive PSU is external, you don't have to use a stepdown - you only have to use a domestic PSU.

			I was refering to the megadrive's power adapter when i said "I assume the adapter is broken and not the system itself" not the stepdown adapter. I've never used a stepdown adapter on my NTSC J Megadrive.
