I have a segacd model 1 that doesn't power on, I have the correct power adapter, also wiggled the genesis, cleaned the contact points on both gen and segacd(nothing). Opened it up checked fuse F1 and diode (ok), checked the LM7805 power regulator IC (no power), so that tells me that the problem is after the diode and before the LM7805. I noticed one of the ICs(LC7881M-26256) on the board has 2 pins that are bridged 17 and 18, is that supposed to be like that? Can anyone verify this on theirs, even pics would help. thanks

Did you check the power transformer? Swap it with the genesis and see does the genesis power up.

If you mean the 9V DC 1.2A , that was one of the first things I tried.

Well finally repaired my sega cd . What I ended up doing was soldering a wire from a fuse leg to the 9volt input on the 7805 voltage regulator. Worked like a charm. Everything works as it's supposed to.
