Does anyone remember the pippin atmark made my apple and with conjuction with bandai i believe? Well I always find it interesting to look up old articles to see what the reaction was at the time for those particular products.

An article about thePippin.... Pretty funny stuff for how popular they thought it would be.

pretty cool

It was interesting reading about it from a behind the scenes look at Apple (among other products) in On The Firing Line: My 500 Days At Apple... by Gil Amelio (former CEO).

Recommend reading if you don't mind picking up a book

Pick it up for a couple buck shipped used

And if you want to see some cuh-razy hippies that made some computers (i.e. Steve Jobs, Woz, Bill Gates & friends), go rent "Pirates of Silicon Valley." It was a decent movie. I liked it.

Yeah it was pretty good.

Little exaturated, I think

Makes you hate both Gates and Jobs

I unfortunately sold my VHS copy a couple years ago thinking I wouldn't watch it again

No mention of Pippin though -- the story ended after the release of Win95

What was the most recent release of windows before 95 came out I'd like to see what that was like since I remember what a big ass deal 95 was.

3.1 was before that.

Back then nobody cared much about PCs so it wasn't much of a media event except in PC circles. But before that there were Macs and other GUIs, so it wasn't a HUGE deal.

ahhh... win 3.1 how I loathed thee.

For some good old school windows 3.1 love... goto your startmenu and goto run and runt eh program "progman" that's program manager which was the heart and soul of windows 3.1 You can navigate around in it and create program groups and all that windows 3.1 style. Personally... I hate windows like the plague until near when windows 95 came out (I liked DOS). Then when 95 came out I thought it was horrible, and thought that they just called it windows so that it would get people to buy it based on 3.1 lol. In any case... back to the subject... if you don't know what 3.1 looks like just run progman and then once you get that up and going goto file and then new and create a program group and put some shortcuts and stuff in it lol. (and yes they still have it... even in winxp lol).
