what program do you use on ftp's does explorer work fine or is there something else i should use?

No this is the wrong place, but since you've asked it here...

Give cuteFTP or Smart FTP or Leech FTP or Bulletproof FTP a go. All are fine FTP clients.

In future ask this type of question in the Tech Help forum, or maybe the FTP forum.

DO NOT USE EXPLORER AS AN FTP CLIENT! EVER!

Interestingly enough, I tried about a gazillion FTP clients, including all of the above ones.

None made me happy. None.

Then I discovered OnTrack Powerdesk Pro. It's a complete replacement for Windows Explorer, which is great in itself...but it also includes an FTP client which has all the basic features and none of the frills. Works perfect for me and there's nothing like dragging stuff between local and remote folders. Helped me get all of Panzer Dragoon Saga.

3D FTP(versions 2.0 & 5.0) works fine for me with no hammering problems and with some great speed boost.

I use Smart FTP, however rarely, and it works fine.

FTP Explorer is also a good choice, particularly if you like Windows Explorer.
