Yes, it has a splash screen and menu.

Why do you ask?

 muffinman943 Dec 29, 2003
its getting annoying when u play imports alot, because the startup is 3 times longer. my 4-in-1 does the same thing

 Alexvrb Dec 29, 2003
*shrug* its a little annoying, but I usually power up my saturn before my TV, so I'm pressing start while I'm changing to video input 4. I just leave it in all the time so its automatic to me, and it handles imports and 1/4MB games.

I suppose someone could hack the firmware to bypass the menu and start the game without cheats automatically. That'd be an interesting development.

To the original poster, if you don't get the menu when you turn on the machine, try pushing the cart all the way in and then pull it out a bit again.

well, i kno, i have a 4-in-1 , and it works fine, just wondering if the 5-in-1 had that too

A "5-in-1" is the same thing as a 4-in-1; depending on the vendor they either count commslink as one of the 5 or they count the expansion RAM twice (because it works for both 1MB and 4MB games, even though that's solely because the 1MB games are coded to be compatible with 4MB carts)

srry, what i meant was an action replay pro. i bought it on liksang, and they called it a 4-in-1

So how would you transfer files, or run cheats if you so desire?

You may just want to bypass the region protection and use the expansion RAM.

Or make it go to the menu only if a certain button was pressed.

 Pyrite Jan 1, 2004
Damn antime that was exactly what I was thinking and it also seems the best solution. If the console was turn ON with the B button pressed (just an example) it would skip the menus and load the game vice versa it would go to the menus. The most annoying thing with the AR+ is the splash screen which stays on screen for about two seconds maybe more.

thats dumb. its 4 seconds to be exact

Is it really so annoying?

That's all I ever use it for. But if there was a way of making the start button skip the menu and start without cheats immediately, without going through both screens, that'd be great. That way if you don't touch anything, it still loads and you can enter codes.

Barracuda: Not really, but it would be nice if I could skip it entirely.
