Confused about mods...

I am a little confused about the mod boards sold through Lik-Sang.com... it says to solder the one wire to PIN #4 but I've seen many websites on the subject and it says PIN #3. Which is it? Also, what's deal with connection one of two different sets of pins for a 0014 or 0019 configuration? What does this mean, and how would you do it?

i read all the diagrams saying to solder from pin 4 from the right and it never worked. then i found one obscure schematic saying its the 3rd from the right and it worked.
