Cable is overrated, only channels you need are Fox Sports Net(s), Nickelodeon for Nick at Nite, ESPNs and MTV 2, but I bet I could live with a set of Rabbit Ears and a bigger budget for books.

those cable commercials got me angry, i just hate tattle tales, it makes enemies in the community.

Since the smarty pantses are debating, I'd like to add hypotheticals, what if one cancels service, but service isn't cut. Is it just a matter of ethics, whether one continues to use the service, even thought they are no longer paying for it? Or is it just plain illegal anyway?

Or what if you pay for one service (ie: cable modem) and get all the sudden start getting another for free (ie: HBO)? This happened to my friend and he didn't say a word. I wouldn't either. I'm not getting paid to keep an eye on their system. That's their job and someone isn't doing it. Where as if an ATM spit $200 out instead of $20 and it didn't deduct it from my account, I would say something. Getting free HBO because someone goofed down at HQ doesn't really effect anyone, I wasn't going to pay for it anyway. Getting $180 more than you're supposed to is surely going to be missed.

I suppose one could argue that it's basically the same thing. Machines break when people don't take care of them properly--someone isn't doing their job. But it's also not being piped directly into my home. If I get a paper delivered to my house in the morning when I'm not supposed to, I don't call the paper boy and tell him to come get it. But if I go to a store and get too much change (and I notice right up front) I'll give it back. Some people might not see a difference. I barely see one. Would I turn in $1000 that I find on the ground when no one's looking? Am I just turning in the extra ATM money because there are cameras everywhere and computers recording my every transaction? I don't know. I've never found $1000 on the ground before. I've never had an ATM give me extra money.

Basically it's up to each person to decide what to do. I wouldn't really care either way. I'm just bored and trying to kill some time before my next class

And for the record, I did find a wallet on the ground at school and turned it in. I'd want someone to do the same for me.

Um, arent we already paying for cable? I mean we have to sit through commercials that take up about 30% of a half hour show. I dont know about your cable company, but most cable companies are full of retards. So you mean I have to take a day off work to wait for the cable guy who is 4 hours late AND pay for the service too? So you add in my wage I lost + the monthly rate, and I come out paying through my ass to watch 35 minutes of programming each hour. Where is my incentive to not steal it, when I can go outside and hook it up faster than the employee? pff

How about we just ban TV all together and then that will do away with cable.... and then we can all be happy.

It will also remove cable internet access. w00t! DOWN WITH CABLE!

Just do what I do. Change the filenames of the graphics you're using and put up new graphics with the old filenames. The new graphics are simple, nice, rude messages about "this image pirated, please visit..."

And I still say cable TV and broadband should be socialized. Democracy would be great and pure Communism doesn't work, but I think the British are on the right track by combining the two.

they're not the only people. Socialism isn't that bad just the way used. hybrid governments that combine democracy and socialism sound good but the thing is when ever there's government there's always somebody getting screwed. The world would be a better place if everyone was perfect and all the lame ass teen groups weren't around; but that's obvious.

happens all the time with many different things. I'm betting that those raises in price are because they're greedy bastards that run the cable company. raise in prices will always come and it's because the company has to pay money for the stations it hosts on it's service as the networks raise their cost to the cable company to air their stations then the cable company raises your bill it's never going to change. I think blaming cable theft for the increase in the paying customers bill is really bull I mean there can't be that many people stealing cable; why steal cable when it's a lot easier to steal satellite service; satellite service I mean satellite is great you get all the premium channels and you get 24 hours of porn. I'll admit I know many people that have stolen satellite service and not one of them would have paid for the service and when their cards got "zapped" they actually just gave up the satellite.

I think VXX was referring to people inlining files from your server on their pages (which is what "bandwidth theft" traditionally refers to).

gasp! spongebob was cancelled?! Oh well, the episodes were getting to be really stupid, and I stopped watching sometime ago. AND Rocko's Modern Life IS the 2nd best nick toon, the first has to be Ren and Stimpy. The worst must be Catdog, jesus is that a dumb show.

I'm talking about removing ALL useless information from the web so that I don't accidentally waste my precious bandwidth on it.

Technically, Steven Hillenburg got sick of doing the show, and when he was given the option of doing another season, he declined.

Hey, CatDog got canned too, so there's something to celebrate.

Sigh, well, it was a little too mature for a kiddie-krap network like Nick.

And Jhonnen Vasquez works better without any censoring anyways. Zim never quite reached the same level as JTHM or Squee.
