Well I ended up selling my "broken" saturn to mal

(and my mod chip to somebody on another board)

Apparently Mal got the thing to work with little trouble.

arty

How'd ya do it, Mal?

All I had to do was scrape away the small amount of excess solder that was joining two of the ICs legs.

WAY too late - but:

the same just happened here - so heres my guess for this problem:

I also was solderiing my Chip to the CD-Board... and... this specific leg you have to attach the cable to has a 2-3milimeter circuit path to the next contact on the board...

happened here that I destroyed the circuit path where the IC leg normally is soldered to..

took me a while to figure it out...

solution.. get a sharp small knife and scrape off the green cover from the rest of the circuit path. Now get a SMALL piece of wire (maybe solderi only will also do) - before you cut the wire glaze it with solder. Take tweezers, bring the wire into position and solder it into the gap.

my advantage... I have small SMD-soldering iron - too bad I didnt use it in the first place

wow -- brings back memories of my first mod attempt

hopefully mal can help you out
